Seven websites for free stock photos

Visuals are an essential part of your branding should you use them for your website, blog, presentation or any other communication. Stock photos can get a little expensive, and sometimes overused. Increasingly there are some great alternatives offering free stock photos – they support new artists and make their money on extras, which you don’t need to use. They are not copyrighted and are of great high res quality. Perhaps some of these could also be handy if you are an aspiring photographer and want your photos to be featured. Feel free to add any suggestions that we missed:

1.Pexels

Pexels provides high quality and completely free stock photos licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. All photos are tagged, searchable and also easy to discover through our discover pages. Currently they cover over 10,000 free stock photos. And every month at least 1,500 new high resolution photos will be added. All photos are hand-picked from photos uploaded by users or sourced from free image websites. All published pictures are high-quality and licensed under CC0.

6. Picjumbo

7. Gratisography

Quite a few of our readers also recommended Pixabay which I haven’t used before, but looking at it now it’s definitely a  great addition to the list. With a high volume of quality, high res photo it’s another great resource if you are looking for pictures.
