The importance of keeping it regular on social media

You know by now that social media is essential for marketing. You’re tired of hearing it, and we’re tired of telling you. After all, the world of technology and business moves so fast that this is in no way news. In fact, any business which hasn’t made use of social media in the past five years is likely dead in the water by now.

What you might not realise is that you need to do more to make this work than uploading when you think of something witty. While your posts need to seem natural to your followers, they’re likely far from it. Why? Because a regular uploading schedule is the only way to make social media marketing work. That means uploading at the same time on the same day each week. Whether you make this work by scheduling posts or making a note of upload dates in your diary, it’s essential you get on top. In fact, it’s fair to say that this is so crucial, it’s even worth hiring an IT service like those offered by to ensure your computer systems are up and running at the all important upload time. Even missing just one post could have severe repercussions for your sales that week.

But, why is this schedule stuff such a big deal? Why should you care enough to pay for it through services like those mentioned above? In truth, there are many reasons, and we’re going to look at a few of them here.

Top of the listings

Algorithms and the world of social media make little sense to most of us. But, one thing we all agree on is that those who upload often don’t get more coverage. On sites like YouTube, irregular uploading could even mean subscribers aren’t notified when you do post. Even on Twitter, you won’t make it high in search listings if you’re irregular. Companies just aren’t willing to promote channels with no activity. And, you can’t blame them for that.

Keeping it fresh

Uploading on a regular schedule also ensures your brand stays fresh in customer’s minds. Over time, regular uploads can create a sense of camaraderie. And, you can be sure that’ll increase your website traffic like little else. In fact, if you leave it too long to post, you may find you start losing your following. They followed you because your brand interested them, but they’ve never heard anything from you. Come to that; they can’t even remember what products you offered in the first place. Unsubscribe!

Frees your time

Though you may think regular uploading will take a lot of time, the opposite is true. As can be seen from sites like, planning can actually increase your productivity. If you know when to dedicate time to social media, it’s less likely you’ll waste time. Instead, spend an hour on your account at the start of the week. Then, only go on to reply to comments until next time a bulk writing session comes around.
